Restaurant Atlantica on Kutuzovsky Prospekt has unveiled a new wine list, refreshed by sommelier Maria Onuchina. The list now has bottles for any occasion — from a light dinner for two to a large feast. The main emphasis is on variety of format, geography, and pairings with dishes from the main menu, which is dominated by Russian-origin ingredients, including seafood from Sakhalin, Kamchatka, and Murmansk.

For groups, you can now order magnums — large bottles built for several guests. This category includes a French crémant with white currant and peach aromas, and an Italian prosecco from Veneto with floral notes and a light citrus finish. Those choosing wine to match just one dish, or who prefer not to open a full bottle, will find modest-volume formats on the list — 0.375-liter demi-bottles. Among them: a classic Chablis from Burgundy, Santa Cristina from Tuscany, and a brut champagne with a bold flavor.

Champagne lovers can discover new labels — the list now includes names like Louis Roederer and Bonnet-Gilmert Blanc de Blancs. If you want a glass of sparkling with oysters or tartare, you no longer have to order a whole bottle — a crémant from the Loire Valley and champagne from La Confrérie des Domaines are now served by the glass. That widens the options for guests who value moderation or prefer to taste several different wines over the course of an evening.

Atlantica's wine list didn't overlook Russian producers either. A Crimean Riesling with a subtle citrus bitterness and a dessert ice wine make a logical complement to the restaurant's seafood-focused menu. The ice wine pairs beautifully with seafood and desserts, while the Riesling brings out the flavor of fish and light starters.

The fall-winter season calls for richer, warming wines. For cool evenings, an Austrian Blauer Zweigelt with cherry-spice notes and a Piedmontese Nebbiolo from the Molino winery both fit well. The latter carries aromas of raspberry and blackcurrant and works both alongside dinner and at a get-together with friends. For a romantic evening, there's the unusual orange wine Andataeritorno Roundtrip, with notes of orange nectar, floral honey, apricot, and green almond.

Besides expanding the range, Maria Onuchina has announced a series of wine evenings. These gatherings will interest anyone wanting to dig deeper into wine, learn about regions, varietals, and pairings, and try new bottles with a sommelier's commentary along the way.
