Terms of Use

1. What this document is about

thetaste.io and its mobile and messenger versions (together, the “Service”) are a restaurant guide: curated lists and profiles of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and hotels, with editorial ratings, menus, and a magazine. The Service is run by the operator named in Section 9 (the “Company”). Anyone who visits the Service is a “User.”

2. Accepting these Terms

By using the Service — opening its pages, browsing lists, following links — the User accepts these Terms. Anyone who disagrees should stop using the Service. The Company may change these Terms; the current version is always published on this page, with the revision date shown above.

3. What the Service is, and isn't

The Service is free and informational. Details about venues — addresses, hours, menus, prices, average check — are compiled by the editorial team and may be outdated or inaccurate; they do not constitute a public offer by the venues or by the Company. Ratings and recommendations reflect editorial opinion. Whether to visit a venue is entirely the User's own decision, and the Company is not responsible for the venues' actions.

4. Cookies and analytics

The Service uses cookies and similar browser technologies. Essential cookies and local storage keep the site working: they remember the language and city you've chosen, and whether you've acknowledged this notice. For anonymous traffic statistics, the Service uses «Яндекс.Метрика» (Yandex Metrica; operated by Yandex LLC, Russia), which collects data on page views, device type, and referral source. The Service does not store personal data — names, phone numbers, emails — in cookies.

By continuing to use the Service after seeing the cookie notice, the User agrees to this use of cookies. Cookies can be disabled in browser settings; the Service will still work, but may be less able to remember the chosen language and city.

5. Rights to content

Text, photos, curated lists, ratings, and the design of the Service belong to the Company or are used with the rightsholders' permission, including venues that have provided photos. Quoting the content for non-commercial purposes is allowed with attribution and an active link to thetaste.io. Copying material for commercial purposes, automated data collection (scraping), and reproducing the guide's database without the Company's written consent are prohibited.

6. Registration

The Service currently has no registration or user accounts, and does not collect Users' personal data. If such features are introduced, a personal-data processing policy and a separate consent form will be published before they go live, and these Terms will be updated accordingly.

7. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is.” The Company works to keep the Service accurate and available but does not guarantee it will be free of errors or interruptions, and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, is not liable for losses arising from using the Service or being unable to use it.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation. Disputes are resolved through negotiation and, failing agreement, in the court with jurisdiction over the Company's registered location.
