Restaurant "Intelligentsia" on Taganka has introduced a daytime menu called Brunch & Breakfast, put together by chef Alexander Galuza. The menu is available every day from 12:00 to 16:00, and on weekdays it comes with a 10% discount on cocktails and wine. The concept: easy-to-understand everyday dishes combining hearty ingredients with recognizable flavors. It's not a classic breakfast, but not a heavy lunch either — something in between, nice for a midday bite.

One of the menu's standout items is the beefsteak. Made from beef, seasoned with salt, pepper, and crushed coriander, then grilled to medium well. The meat is served on crushed baked potatoes with a fried egg and a cucumber relish. Another hearty dish: orzo with duck. The small pasta in béchamel sauce pairs with braised duck, which the chef first sears to a golden crust. The dish is topped with crispy onion and covered in an aged-parmesan mousse. It reads like a warm pasta bake with a bold meaty flavor.
The menu also has room for lighter items. The glazed oyster mushroom salad is built on fresh radish and daikon. Texture here comes not just from the mushrooms but from a tofu cream with peanut paste and lemon juice — a dish that's both refreshing and filling. Draniki with mushroom julienne is another representative of comfort food. The crispy potato base pairs with a julienne on cream and chicken broth that makes the dish especially rich. The duo reads like cozy home cooking.

There's an omelet too — made with milk and butter, coming out light and airy. It's served with marinated tomatoes and langoustines, seared and lightly soaked in a fragrant bisque. That combination makes the dish feel a touch more festive, without stepping outside the daytime format. Roast beef made the cut too. It's pre-marinated in mustard and honey, and served with a smoky potato mousse, shaved parmesan, and a chimichurri sauce with fresh herbs.
