The cuisine is classic Russian, built on old tavern recipes. The menu at Pyatkin features cold fish and meat starters, aspic and offal, and a caviar section all its own. Buzhenina is slow-cooked with spices, and veal tongue goes into a salad served in a blini basket. Soups — from borscht to ukha made with rooster — are served rich and hearty, and there are also golubtsy in tomato sauce. At the bar, cranberry liqueur and khrenovukha are offered alongside the wine.
