Wine the color of a summer sunset isn't just a drink — it's a mood. At restaurant Savoy, head sommelier Alexander Roshchin greets summer with a selection of twelve rosé wines, each revealing its own geography, character, and mood. The rosé list brings together bottles from Provence, Rioja, Marlborough, Alsace, and the Crimean coast. Every wine has its own story, and even the look of it works for the atmosphere: sparkling coral and pale-berry hues recall long sunsets and unhurried conversations. You could start with New Zealand. Bla Bla Bla from Marlborough is a wine that seems made for chatting on a terrace. Light, bright, fresh, with a sunny golden shimmer, it seems to whisper: don't take life too seriously.

The classic of the rosé genre, of course, is Provence. Savoy offers Pétale de Rose and By.Ott, two wines with a delicate wildflower aroma and a light finish, often chosen to pair with summer starters and fish dishes. Spain's Flor de Muga from Rioja is a whole different story — a wine among El País's top 10 rosés, rich, food-friendly, and full of character. It brings out the flavor of dishes and sets the pace of a dinner. Crémant Mayerling and Crémant d'Alsace Brut Rosé by Lucien Albrecht show sparkling rosé at its best. A French style with notes of German precision makes them ideal for an aperitif and summer gatherings. And, of course, Miraval — a magnum from Brad Pitt's winery in Provence. This bottle alone is reason enough to gather, open the season, and allow yourself a bit of celebration.

The Russian entries on the rosé list are the collection's brightest part. The head sommelier speaks of them with particular pride. "Shishka" from Krasnodar Krai is a pinot noir with strawberry and vanilla aromas, made by the tiny artisan winery "Mezyb." Malbec Rosé from "Lefkadia" is juicy, with a distinctive acidity — an easy-drinking wine that pairs well with vegetables and grilled meat. The 2023 vintage from Kira Efimova's Sevastopol project Le K2 is berry-driven, mineral, with a long finish. And rosé "Temelion" has already become a symbol of new Russian winemaking. It's known and loved, and it certainly doesn't get lost among the loud foreign names.

The new rosé collection at Savoy isn't just about wine — it's about the moment. Gathering in good company, picking a bottle to match the mood, and spending the day together — that's the whole point. Summer is just getting started.
