RUSKI Unveils a Journey-Themed Cocktail List.

Restaurant RUSKI has unveiled a new cocktail list inspired by the travels and discoveries of Russian explorers. Head bartender Alexander Avdokhin created eight drinks, each reflecting the spirit of a specific historical figure and their expedition. The cocktails gather unusual flavors and rare ingredients that recall the nature, climate, and impressions of the routes these figures from the past once traveled.

The cocktail in honor of Ivan Krusenstern is a light spritz with gin, mango, and a strawberry-rhubarb cordial. It recalls the first Russian circumnavigation. The combination of fruity freshness and light alcohol evokes the wind and maritime freedom that accompanied the ship as the expedition set out.

Nikolai Vavilov, who studied plants around the world, inspired the bartender to create a sparkling cocktail with jasmine, apple, and tarragon. The light floral and herbal notes in this glass seem to gather into a herbarium, echoing the seeds the scientist searched for across the globe. The sparkling base plays up the vividness and richness of the flavor.

Nikolai Miklouho-Maclay spent a great deal of time among the peoples of Oceania. His drink combines apricot, almond, saffron, and citrus, carrying warmth, spice, and a light exoticism. The flavor unfolds in waves, like the life of the explorer who found himself on the far side of the world, far from familiar culture.

Pyotr Semyonov-Tyan-Shansky, who explored mountainous regions, comes through in a cocktail of cornel cherry, pomegranate, and balsamic vinegar. The bold, tart, slightly sharp flavor recalls the heights, slopes, winds, and rocks among which he discovered new botanical species and mapped Central Asia.

The taste of the Arctic comes through in the cocktail dedicated to Vitus Bering. Gin infused with sagan-dailya (Rhododendron adamsii) and cranberry, with angelica, creates a cold, austere composition. It evokes the straits and coastlines Bering had to conquer. It's not just a drink — it's an entire landscape, frosty and remote, but alive.

The image of Fabian Bellingshausen, the first to sight Antarctica, unfolds through creamy freshness and light dessert shades of plombir ice cream, melon, coconut, and vanilla. This cocktail joins frost and warmth, ice and memory, much like the story of the white continent he first put on the map.

Fyodor Konyukhov inspired a cocktail with artichoke bitters, amaro, almond, and vermouth. It carries a sense of introspection, deep focus, and solitude, much like his expeditions across the ocean, through the sky, and to the poles. It's a complex, layered flavor that doesn't reveal itself all at once.

Ferdinand Wrangel, the Arctic explorer, gets his own cocktail interpretation with lavender and cedar. Cold, clean, restrained, it conveys the atmosphere of the northern sea, a gaze into the distance, calm, and purposefulness. This drink is in no hurry, much like the icy expanses Wrangel traveled through.

The new cocktail list isn't just a selection of flavors — it's a series of miniature stories about travel.
