"Kalinka on Neglinka" Revives Tradition.

Restaurant "Kalinka na Neglinke" ("Kalinka on Neglinka") was created out of respect for Russian tradition and a wish to show it in a new light. Mikhail Petukhov, a well-known restaurateur who previously launched projects Loomi and "Myasnaya Karta," is the venue's creator. The menu brings classic dishes revived from old recipes together, in harmony, with modern versions that give familiar Russian flavors new life. Head chef Alexey Tkachenko dives deep into the culture and history of the cuisine, often turning to his extensive library for inspiration and to add original touches to the recipes.

The main room is equipped with a Russian stove and a grill for open-fire dishes, adding a distinctive flavor and a sense of authenticity. Special attention goes to the art of dough-making: craftswomen shape homemade pelmeni, vareniki, and pirozhki right in front of guests, then bake them immediately. Tables with samovars sit at the center of the room — not just decoration, but there for guests to brew their own tea, exclusive house blends specially prepared for the restaurant included.

The bar offers drinks characteristic of Russian culture, from refreshing kvass and fruit drinks to medovukha and signature infusions. Besides the classics, you can also try cocktails based on homemade infusions and moonshine, widening the usual range and creating interesting flavor combinations.

The restaurant's interior is the work of bureau MMZ PROJECT, led by Maria Zhukova. The design combines elements of Mezen painting, traditional painted tiles by a Moscow craftsman, carved furniture, and ornate red chandeliers. The inspiration was the image of Kalinka, a Russian beauty — modern, stylish, who carefully preserves family traditions and shares them with those around her.
