Three Versions of a Bumble from Meteorite and Camera Obscura.

Since the start of July, Moscow bistro Meteorite on Pokrovka has launched a collaboration with roasters Camera Obscura. At the heart of the joint project is a summer coffee drink — the bumble, served here in three different versions. The collaboration runs from July 5 to 20 and includes not just classic coffee combinations but variations with alcohol and dessert too.

Meteorite is a new bistro and concept store that opened at the end of spring. The space quickly became popular thanks to its combination of breakfast, coffee, and wine, along with a shop for local brands. Here you can find cosmetics, candles, décor items, baked goods, and drinks made with beans from Moscow roasters.

For the collaboration, barista-mixologist Illarion Khallyev of Camera Obscura chose "Chaika" coffee from the Karamo farm in Ethiopia. This variety has a bold, rich flavor that holds up even when mixed with citrus, making it well suited to cold summer drinks. This coffee forms the base for the two bumble varieties created specially for Meteorite.

The first version, "Bumble Spritz," is a light alcoholic cocktail with fresh orange and grapefruit juice, homemade raspberry syrup, and sparkling wine. The second, non-alcoholic "Bumble Yuzu-Strawberry," combines orange pulp, strawberry extract, and a yuzu aroma. In both, the coffee stays noticeable, creating a balance between the fruit's acidity and its own sweetness.

The third element of the collaboration is a pastry. Meteorite's pastry chef Elena Borodich made a choux bun with coffee-orange cream. The dessert echoes the drinks' flavor profile: bright citrus, a delicate texture, and coffee depth. It's served as a complement to any of the drinks and rounds out the bumble set.
