Breakfast Is Coming to Salone.

Every spring, dozens of new breakfast menus open across Moscow, but not every venue approaches the launch with as much care as Salone. Here, they couldn't settle on a start date for a long time, because they wanted to please both the crowd coming in for the usual avocado toast and those pining for a home-style casserole. Now, starting May 17, you can not only have dinner with a glass of wine at Salone, but also start your morning there — like in Rome, Milan, or simply at grandma's.

The menu has several directions. Fans of Italian tradition can choose one of the breakfasts inspired by Rome or Milan. Specific dishes from these menu sections haven't been announced, but going by the kitchen's style and the rest of the offering, expect light, refined flavors with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and well-judged combinations.

For those drawn to comfort and nostalgia, there's oatmeal or amaranth porridge with garden berries, and a farmer's-cheese casserole with farm sour cream and homemade jam. This isn't an attempt to impress — it's a wish to feed you kindly, the way home does.

The heartiest option is the Salone XL breakfast. It's assembled on a large plate: house-cured salmon, red caviar, fresh tomatoes with capers, cucumber, salad greens, tartine, herbed cream cheese, and berries. The dish recalls the brunches popular in Europe's major capitals.

For those who can't imagine a morning without egg, salmon, and avocado, those options are covered too. The description notes that all the main breakfast "staples" are in place, which suggests fashionable items like toast with poached egg and fish.

The croissants deserve special mention. There are four kinds: with mortadella and pistachio, with prosciutto cotto and sun-dried tomato pesto, with salmon and tonnato sauce, and, for those with a sweet tooth, with pistachio ganache and homemade jam.

Among the drinks, you can get wellness shots, freshly squeezed juices, and photogenic coffee. All signs suggest Salone is ready to play on every front — from health benefits to visual appeal.

Breakfast started being served on May 17. On weekdays, the restaurant opens at 9:00; on weekends, at 10:00. That might matter for those planning morning meetings or who simply like breakfasting out in the city. Salone, like many venues in the center, has fallen in step with Moscow's rhythm — a fast, early-rising city.
