Green buckwheat with parmesan and a poached egg. The strongest dish on the breakfast menu. It fits the morning scenario well: filling, comforting, and put together without excess heaviness. It's the clearest window into how the kitchen sees breakfast overall.

Potato pancake with salmon. Visually this dish looks striking, but the flavor doesn't leave much of a lasting impression. Everything is done neatly, but without the aftertaste that makes you want to order it again.

Syrniki. A solid basic dish with no missteps, but also no standout reason to call it the main draw of a visit. It supports the overall impression without shaping it.

Coffee. A steady end to breakfast. It doesn't pull attention to itself, but it doesn't spoil the impression of the rest of the order either.

In the end, AVA Bistro comes across as a comfortable breakfast option in Petersburg, especially if the visit is tied to a walk around New Holland.
