"Thread" is a cozy tea house in the very heart of Moscow, on Gogolevsky Boulevard. The project was founded by Andrei Kolbasinov, Russia's 2019 champion in tea mixology.
The interior embodies the concept of a contemporary Russian tea house, combining traditional elements with modern design.
The space is done in a warm, natural palette with terracotta, wood and olive accents. An exposed ceiling painted a rich brick-red gives the room a light industrial character, softened by the soft glow of wall sconces and designer chandeliers. Inside, understated tables, and soft armchairs and sofas with rounded lines pair with bold graphic elements in black-and-white patterned upholstery. The bar counter stands out with a geometric motif. Tea packages and accessories are neatly arranged on the shelves.
The tea house's menu is built on Russian tea tradition in a contemporary reading. At its core are single-origin teas and original blends built on historical flavor profiles. The tea list includes herbal, black and fermented teas, sbiten, seasonal drinks, and raf coffees with added spices and milk. Desserts round out the tea list and nod to classic Russian sweets.
