Kiyomi

Pozharsky Lane near Patriarshie is a fitting location for Kiyomi — quiet, cozy, with every turn promising a discovery. Lucky Group launched this project with an ambitious idea: to fit the full diversity of Japanese culinary tradition under one roof. Brand chef Artemy Lopatin and chef Rustam Nazarov handle the execution in the kitchen. The menu blends sashimi, open-fire dishes and original desserts. The room seats 80 guests, and two private rooms for six allow for an intimate celebration.

Our team gave Kiyomi 7 out of 10. The interior impresses: restrained but full of character — the Japanese spirit comes through without leaning on showy ethnic decor.

The restaurant's visual identity is by studio Design Aid — designers Tatyana Kharchenko and Serdar Yanikov chose an autumnal palette and filled the space with texture. The central accent is a hand-painted gold panel in a haiku spirit. Chairs by Kazuhide Takahama are finished with copper elements, the walls are covered in natural sisal, and the floor transitions into terracotta travertine. The bar, made of rare marble with a natural flower-like pattern, looks genuinely striking. Paintings by Nikita Parechin, Natalia Tarantseva and Liza Bobkova are placed throughout the rooms, adding depth to how the space reads.

The bar menu is built as a journey through eight regions of the land of the rising sun, from the northern lavender fields to the southern tropics. Among the original offerings, cocktails built on sake and Japanese whisky stand out. The wine list leans on bright whites, and the tea program offers high-grade ceremonial matcha in several traditional serving styles.

The floor staff deserve their own praise: the waiters know the composition of every dish and speak confidently about cooking techniques. Kiyomi works well for a romantic evening for two, a birthday in the private room with the round window, or simply a long dinner at the bar counter with nowhere to rush off to.
