Cobalt Coffee

The coffee shop's space is split into three zones: the bar counter, seating along the view windows, and a back-of-house block. The interior's main accent is the bar counter, done in a mazanka clay-plaster technique and painted a deep cobalt blue. In plan, its shape echoes the letter C, a nod to the name built directly into the architecture. The lighting, proportions and details are worked out with a precision you'd expect more from a residential interior than a city coffee shop.

The menu is built on in-house production: everything, from the pastries to the mains, is made on site. For breakfast and brunch: ricotta curd pancakes, green buckwheat with a poached egg and parmesan, and a brioche with stracciatella. Among the mains: pasta, a pumpkin soup with shrimp, and a quinoa-and-salmon salad. The pastries — croissants and the dessert of the day — change with the season. The drink menu covers classic and original coffee, matcha, cocoa, tea and seasonal drinks.

The coffee shop on Donskaya is a spot where the creator's architectural thinking becomes an everyday city format: breakfast by the window, a weekday brunch, coffee on the way somewhere. Cobalt blue here isn't just a brand color — it sets the tone for everything, from the counter to the tableware.
