Nothing Fancy

The Moscow branch of the Saint Petersburg project by Henri Bert, Steven Sharma and Roman Kiselev.

The concept stays the same: the menu still focuses on healthy comfort food, juices and smoothies, with breakfast served all day.

Both the Saint Petersburg and Moscow Nothing Fancy interiors were designed by Eduard Yeremchuk and Katya Pyatitskaya's bureau, Edxxkat. The space looks futuristic: reflective surfaces, panoramic windows, gray walls, unusual leather chairs by the brand Alien, and a bold wall panel by Facultative Works. Sit at a standalone table or the large communal one. Seats aren't reserved in advance, but thanks to smart organization, seating rarely becomes a problem. Order at the counter, where illuminated screens display the menu behind it.

The bistro's kitchen is led by Roman Kiselev, a graduate of the École Ducasse and Le Cordon Bleu culinary schools, who has worked in restaurants across Europe, the US and even Australia. Among the chef's Russian projects: the café René in the Singer House, the bar Solids, and restaurants of the Italy Group and 0.75 group. He split Nothing Fancy's menu into two parts: all-day breakfast and bowls. You can build your own breakfast to taste: pick a base, then add toppings — pink tomatoes or salmon on the scramble, for instance. The bowls section includes a shrimp-and-bulgur option, a Buddha bowl with brown rice, and a seasonal bowl.
