Tondo

Tondo is an Italian restaurant and bar by the La Biga Italian Bistro team, located in the Petrograd district of St. Petersburg.

The venue is a cohesive restaurant format where Italian tradition meets original ideas.

The interior was designed by Ksenia Smirnova, inspired by the aesthetic of Italian mid-century modern — the 1960s and '70s. The space has plenty of light, wooden and vintage elements, and art pieces, creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. The interior feels like a cozy Italian salotto, where guests can enjoy the food and the aesthetics at once, and the open kitchen adds a sense of the restaurant's live process.

Tondo's menu focuses on a contemporary interpretation of Italian cuisine with an artisanal approach to the classics. One of the centerpieces is the pizza Tonda Romana, a round Roman pizza with a thin, crispy crust and original toppings developed by the pizzaiolo. The kitchen is built on a range of pastas with original sauces, charcoal-grilled dishes, crudo and tartares, plus seasonal accents and interesting ingredient pairings.
