A joint project by the Pinskiy & Co holding, Arkady Novikov and Glenn Ballis — a restaurant that built its entire menu around avocado in the spirit of healthy comfort food. The kitchen is led by chef Dmitry Palyanichka, and the main reason to come is breakfast, where avocado shows up in combinations you've likely never tried.
Avocado Queen on Italyanskaya Street is the chain's flagship, backed by the Pinskiy & Co holding, Arkady Novikov and concept creator Glenn Ballis. The formula is simple and consistent: avocado as the star of every section of the menu — fried, roasted, blended into gazpacho, mixed into salads, and layered onto toast. The concept lands exactly at the intersection of healthy eating and food you genuinely want to eat, with no austerity or compromise on flavor.
Our guide's team says the roasted avocado with scramble and truffle is a dish worth remembering, like a password.
The kitchen is led by chef Dmitry Palyanichka, a person with an unconventional background: trained in logistics, he started out at a pizzeria, then worked at the Kharkiv restaurant Kinoshniki, where his professional foundation took shape. In Yalta he worked through every station of the kitchen from the inside before moving into management. At Avocado Queen, Palyanichka acts as the architect of the menu — and it's his sensibility that sets the tone for the unusual combinations that have become the norm here.
Breakfast is a separate, arguably the main, reason people come back. Fried avocado with crab and a poached egg is served bowl-style, with plenty of greens and a generous portion of crab. Roasted avocado with scramble and truffle is a dish with real character, hard to forget. The cheesecakes are a no-frills classic: three pieces, sour cream, wild-berry jam. For those watching what they eat, there's gluten-free bread, served with butter and apricot confiture.
Our undercover guests rated it 7 out of 10 for breakfast, for a well-thought-out menu and atmosphere, with one caveat: leave time between courses, as the kitchen's pace isn't rushed.
The interior supports the overall feel: plenty of light, a light vintage touch, green accents that add background rather than pressure. It's a place well suited to an unhurried morning — you can come for breakfast without a reservation. The menu is refreshed periodically: at various points it's included halloumi with watermelon, burrata with broccolini and peach, truffle-oil sweet-potato fries, and homemade apple pie — seasonality here is a real practice, not just a claim.
Avocado Queen in Saint Petersburg is the address for anyone looking for avocado breakfasts with no compromise between flavor and nutrition. Italyanskaya Street, 21.
