Restaurant Itameshi is a new St. Petersburg project on Tashkentskaya Street by restaurateur Alexey Alekseev (Inner, Futurist).
Walking into the restaurant, you're immediately immersed in the atmosphere of Asian and Italian traditions.
The space's design is by the SUITE N.7 bureau. Inside it's spacious: a large room with high ceilings, filled with light thanks to the big panoramic windows. Around the room are columns decorated with tall wooden panels, and live trees are placed throughout the space. Light-colored soft armchairs brought straight from America, Thonet chairs, and comfortable tables with rotating centers.
Alexey Alekseev himself takes the chef's role. This time the menu brings together the traditions of two completely different countries, which is what makes it unique. Among the dishes are unusual combinations: Kenyan beans in tempura with sriracha, casarecce pasta with tongue steak and shiitake, pizza with shrimp in tom yum sauce. Heading the bar is head bartender Roman Kachanov, who builds combinations of Italian and Japanese flavors. The cocktails use sake, grappa, amaro and tropical fruit, giving each drink a unique taste and drawing out the richness of both cultures.
