Brasserie Кузнецкий Мост

Brasserie "Kuznetsky Most" is French classicism a few steps from the Bolshoi Theatre. The interior was designed by Evgenia Uzhegova of the bureau Livingnow Studio: high arched ceilings, dark-honey lacquered columns, herringbone parquet and soft armchairs — all of it creating a feeling hard to sum up more precisely than "Paris by the Bolshoi." A black grand piano in the room sets the tone: refined, but relaxed.

Our restaurant guide's team finds the design here very inviting — lacquered wood, expensive furnishings, branded table settings. Comfortable for both a date and a business meeting.

The kitchen is led by brand chef Igor Kornev. His approach is not to overcomplicate: a bet on well-judged pairings and product quality. On the menu: a foie gras terrine with fig, beef tartare with black truffle, a chicken pâté with onion marmalade, a classic French onion soup, mussels in white wine, duck breast with young carrots and apple sauce, and calf's liver with port. Nothing extra — just what belongs in a real brasserie.

Breakfast deserves special mention. The morning menu runs to more than twenty items: a French omelet with truffle cream, an omelet with soft cheese and morels, a croque madame with mortadella, brioche with crab and avocado, and croissants in several variations. Breakfast comes with a choice of toppings and cocktails from the bar, and Champagne is served by the glass. Our secret guests gave breakfast 7 out of 10, noting the quality of the ingredients and the atmosphere, but pointing to the staff's reserve when it came to following up.

The wine list spans regions of the Old and New Worlds, including Russian winemaking. To store the collection, the restaurant has a dedicated wine room — a rarity even by the standards of Moscow venues of this class.
